Changing lifestyles

Here's an article written by my former professor at Ateneo GSB Rene Azurin STRATEGIC PERSPECTIVE René B. Azurin Changing lifestyles Don’t look now but our lifestyles are changing. At $200 per barrel of oil, regular unleaded gasoline will be P90 per liter and LPG for cooking will be P990 per 11-kg cylinder. (These figures come from a pricing model developed by Energy Consultant Marcial Ocampo.) At those prices, I will have to shelve plans to tour the country by car –visiting long unseen rela… Continue

Work-Life Balance

I remember the story of a young lad asking his father how much he was earning per hour and the father said " Sixty dollars, son. Why do you ask"? The son innocently said, " So, I will be saving 120 dollars". The father asked further " What for?". The son replied " so that I can pay you to spend full time with me for two hours!" The father taken aback, embraced his son with misty eyes and with an instant guilt in his heart.

A Thought to Ponder

A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered. Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possi…

Yes, I was with the government before but I guess I am not the one you might be referring to. There are plenty of sites that offer free hosting and some affordable ones. Send me a private email and I'll you the details, rmignacio@up-alumni.com

Hello again Mon. I see you're the one who invited Salvie to ask her environmentalist friends to join this community. Your name rings a bell but even when we had exams about government officials, I usually didn't bother remembering their names. Were you ever in government. Somewhere you're famous for something. I like this social network site. Is it free? I maintain 2 websites, one for Asian Catholic women theologians (http://geocities.com/ecclesiaofwomen) and another for the save Kanlaon campaign (http://geocities.com/savekanlaon). Not too fancy because I self-learned how to make websites and I can't get away from the newsletter look. Anyway, I have been looking for free space where I can have a discussion forum. This site has an advertisement that says I might be able to use it too. Great. And Since geocities only has space for 15 MB, I also need more disk space for my websites and I think I saw an ad for that in one of your pages.

I hope you're familiar with our issues against Energy Development Corporation's geothermal development in Mt. Kanlaon. I got pushed into handling the case (stood alone against 7 male lawyers yesterday) because EDC was ready to come in and the group couldn't get a lawyer who'd really stick with them and not keep disappearing when there were questions to be answered, updates needed, etc. Because of this case, I've been meeting or corresponding with the most incredible persons and the circle just keeps growing. Tonight I met Mara Pardo de Tavera for the first time (we corresponded because of the Kanlaon issue.). Kanlaon seems to be her present passion though she isn't a Negrense. Salvie's bringing the Kanlaon issue and posting our first day in court pictures in her page gives me a really wonderful feeling about how well supported our cause is. I certainly will find time to post some of our material in this webcommunity.

Hi Mon. Thanks for the welcome. Master of Divinity is a theology course for pastors. Studied it because I wanted to know more about the Bible, theology and ecclesiology so I could see a feminist path through the jungle of patriarchy. Couldn't get into a Catholic seminary so had to do with what was there.

Hi Mon,
